In the early years, the building now known as Sailor's Pub Restaurant was
used for storing and selling lumber. After Shipyard Island Marina
purchased the site, it was used to sell our charter fishing supplies and
housed our pool hall/pub. We eventually changed it to a full-service
restaurant. Sailor's Pub is the only restaurant in Door County serving
lunch and dinner over the water.
 Back
in 2003, we completely remodeled the
interior, giving it a more "airy" feeling with a higher
ceiling
and put in new windows all around to optimize the view of the beautiful
outdoors and the incredible sunsets. We enlarged the bar area and moved it to the back of the
restaurant, allowing a smoother flow throughout for customers and staff
alike. We've also added comfortable booths along all of the walls to
allow for more quiet and intimate dining. Our dining room is
air-conditioned for those who prefer to get out of the heat. Outside
deck seating is available for those who prefer to be outdoors (weather
permitting), and large umbrella shading provides coverage from the sun.
Windscreens were added last year to completely enclose the deck to allow for
outdoor seating on those windy island days.
We continue to serve a
selection of delectable temptations in both the food and beverage offerings.
Andy, Sr. (chef and owner) creates a tasty daily "special" sure to
please, and this year we've dropped the
Friday-only perch and have added it to the regular nightly menu.
We use only the freshest ingredients available
to us in all our entrees to offer you the most
delicious and healthful meals. Special diet needs can be met
by asking your server. In addition, we have a full bar and can prepare any
alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage you would like to have.
So, say "bon voyage" to
those every-day trials and tribulations, if only for a short time.
Visit us by boat or while on the Island, and sit back and relax and feel
